Photo of the Day — Day 197
Regular viewers of my photoblog will have noticed by now that I take a special delight in oddities, be they murals of an angelic Tom Selleck cradling a blue baby or a vending machine that sells fake “bling teeth.” On one of the main thoroughfares in Staunton, I noticed a new one: there is a row of mailboxes that seem to have been plopped down in the middle of a construction area. I can only assume that there was a building behind them at one point and that when the building was knocked down, nobody bothered to do anything about the mailboxes. Nonetheless, I like the image of lone mailboxes waiting for mail that will never come for occupants that are no longer there.
