Photo of the Day — Day 203
I lived in Europe for a couple of years when I was a young man, and I took trains all over Southern Europe and in parts of the Middle East. I’ve only taken the train a couple of times in the U.S., though. S. and I spent quite a few hours on the train these past couple of days, going back and forth from Charlottesville to NYC, and I do prefer the train to airplane travel. The surroundings are plenty comfortable, you can plug in your laptop and entertain yourself on the internet or read a book, and it’s quite pleasant to just sit and watch the landscape go flying by. We had a short layover at the train station in Washington, and I had the chance to take a couple of photos, including this one. The place is a bit run-down, but I like the old-school posters they have hanging around.
