Photo of the Day — Day 214

Loyal followers of my photo blog must thing I have a terrible diet.  My food photos have included cupcakes, a Five Guys burger, a turtle lava cake with ice cream, and an Egg McMuffin with Sausage, among others.  I haven’t posted photos of many healthy food items, with the possible exception of the salad with duck confit.  Let me say for the record, though, that I do eat fairly well, and the sorts of treats that I post photos of here are not my usual fare: they’re just that, treats. 

Now that my disclaimer has been made, let me offer up another little treat.  This sugar and cinnamon covered confection is a donut from Carpe Donuts (http://www.carpedonut.org/), a donuts shop in Charlottesville that makes organic donuts with local ingredients.  And they’re as tasty as all get out!

They sell them a few places around town, but this one came from Calvino Cafe (http://calvinocafe.com/), one of my favorite coffee shops.  A great way to start the day, if you ask me, but certainly not every day.
